Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said her testimony before a Georgia Senate committee Wednesday will be like Christmas coming early. Willis was asked about her plans to address the committee during a news conference about a recent Fulton County rape conviction. After fighting a special investigatory committee of state senators looking into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ conduct during her historic election case against President Donald Trump, Willis will voluntarily testify on Wednesday. State senators want to hear more about Willis’ hiring of a prosecutor she was romantically involved with to lead the indictment that alleged crimes tied to Georgia’s 2020 election. Willis had bucked several of the committee’s subpoenas, claiming they did not have the authority to compel her appearance.
