DROP SPINDLE SPINNING: BOTTOM WHORL STYLE, BASIC TECHNIQUE

I made this quick how-to video for Norma, a beginning spinner to whom we are sending this very spindle. It occurred to me that others might be intrigued by this ancient spinning technique. And for once I speak! Unlike that fake mish-mash accent you hear in movies, THIS is a Southern drawl, y'all...and you should know that I do not have a very strong accent at all. Indeed, I have been asked more than once (here Stateside) if I am English. LOL! Alan usually faints dead away when people ask this. Even the famous English reserve crumbles in the face of such tortured vowels and soft consonants: once a checkout clerk at a Sainsbury's actually stopped scanning our groceries to demand querulously, "Where on EARTH are you from???" Alan was sympathetic: prior to my landing there, the last Southern woman in Rochester had been poor old Pocahontas...
