The Reality of RENOVATING an OLD House | SURPRISES that can cost you money.

In this video we finish tearing out the bedroom closet to expand the small bathroom and begin demo inside the bathroom itself. We remove the toilet and sink to prepare for relocating the vanity into the space where the closet used to be. But once we started opening the floor and removing layers of flooring, we discovered several surprises. We found plumbing issues including a missing shutoff valve and a drain line that wasn’t even connected under the house. We also uncovered a broken floor joist that had to be replaced and reinforced with blocking. During demo we even discovered an old 220-volt electrical line running through the floor that may have been used for a heater years ago.
