Originally Released: July 14th, 2012 ------------------------------------------ Sometimes it surprises me how certain games end up getting published at all. Star Quest I has a lot of neat ideas in it, but the execution doesn't live up to any of them... save for the racing aspect. If this game was nothing BUT racing it would've been many times more fun. :B ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: Here's a link to the Virtual Adventures website where you can get the shareware download from: http://www.virtuadv.com As for a full version of the game, while old DOS copies are still hard to find, the original creator has released an updated version for Windows which even goes so far as to fixing some of the issues of the original DOS release! Interestingly, just a couple years after originally making this video, the Virtual Adventures website was overhauled and a kickstarter was run to fund development of a new Star Quest game! The kickstarter only hit a tiny fraction of its $30,000 goal and there's been little said of the new game since then. One big tip I forgot to mention in the review is that to regenerate your energy, all you have to do is fly CLOSE to the sun. Obviously, you don't want to fly straight into it. In fact, if you get close to the sun and set your throttle to zero, you'll be pretty much invulnerable to attack due to how quickly your energy recharges and how bad the enemies are at attacking you.
