Shree Somnath Mahadev is first among the twelve Jyotirlingas of India. it's located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval Gujarat. How to Reach: Somnath is Well Connected with Diu, Rajkot, and Ahmedabad by Air / Train / Bus. Nearest Airport: DIU – 85 Kms. , Rajkot – 200 Kms, Ahmedabad – 390 Km. Where to stay: Somnath has a number of Guest houses, Hotels & Dharamshalas, Somnath Trust has its own Guesthouses which have an online booking facility too. (TIP: Book your room in advance if you are visiting during School vacations or festival period.) room rent starts from INR.500 to INR 4000+ depending upon the season. Entry, Darshan & Aarti Timings: All Electronic/Electric Equipment, Gadgets are strictly prohibited (viz. Mobile, Camera, laptops, tablets, calculators, Even your Remote Car Key, etc.). keep all these items in your room or you can be stored them in Lockers available in Cloak Room. The Cloakroom facility is free of cost. The digital locker is chargeable. Darshan Timing is from 6 AM to 9.30PM. Aarti Timings : Morning = 7:00 Am, 12:00Noon, 7:00Pm. Light And Sound Show Timing = 8PM To 9PM. (take your tickets in the evening) (Except in the Monsoon / Rainy Season). Wheel Chairs / Golf Cart is available for physically challenged / Senior Citizens at the Main Gate of the Temple. And Lift Facility is available inside the temple premise. Even you can take Online Darshan by visiting the Website http://www.somnath.org/Home/Live-Darshan Apart from this, you can also visit nearby places by Auto, Bus or your own car. Triveni Sangam Ghat, Triveni ghat in Somnath deserves special mention as a holy place as per Indian mythology since it finds mention even in epics such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. This is the meeting place of three important rivers i.e. Hiran, Kapila, and Saraswati before they finally empty themselves out in the Arabian Sea. Here you can take a holy bath or just hang around & feed some birds. Sura Mandir. Just opposite Triveni Ghat, this Temple is located, here you can take darshan of Shiva Linga, Harsiddhi Mata, Surya Dev, and a small cave too. Golok Dham: This Place is dedicated to Lord Krishna & Located on the Bank of the river Hirna, This place is near Triveni Sangam ( around 1km) where you can visit Geta Mandir, Baram Gufa, and Temple of Radha Krishna and also the footprints of Krishna. Bhalka Tirth: Bhalka Teerth situated almost 4 kilometers away from the Somnath temple, is the place where Krishna was hit by an arrow shot by a hunter named Jara while he was resting under the Banyan tree, after which he is said to have left the earth for the heavenly abode, an act referred to in the Puranas as Shri Krishna Neejdham Prasthan Leela. Ban Ganga: From Bhalka Tirth you can easily visit Ban Ganga, Here you can find Shiva Linga on Sea Shore and you can do Abhishek by seawater by yourself, it gives a very great feeling so you don't miss this.
