Hello you wonderful people! Today's Pokémon amigurumi are Voltorb and Electrode, plus a pokéball, all styled as Christmas baubles! Time: 1-2 hours per bauble Size at widest: 19cm (approx 7.5 in) UK terminology used throughout ---------------------- You will need: 3mm crochet hook Red, white and black yarn, double knit weight or similar Something to stuff with an embroidery needle scissors --------------------- Techniques required: magic ring (MR) double crochet (dc) (which is single crochet in USA terminology) increase (inc) invisible decrease (dec) chaining (ch) Slip stitch (sl) some embroidery skill --------------------- Bauble - Make 1 starting with red for Electrode. Make 2 starting with white for Voltorb and the pokeball. -------------------- In continuous spiral rounds. F: dc 6 into MR [6] R1: inc x 6 [12] R2: (dc1, inc)x6 [18] R3: dc1, inc, (dc2, inc)x5, dc1 [24] R4: (dc3, inc) x6 [30] R5: dc2, inc, (dc4, inc)x5, dc2 [36] R6 & R7: dc 36 [36] Switch colour. If you started with red change to white, and vice versa. R8: in BLO, dc 36 [36] R9-R11: (now both loops) dc 36 [36] R12: dc2, dec, (dc4, dec)x5, dc2 [30] R13: (dc3, dec)x6 [24] R14: dc1, dec, (dc2, dec)x5, dc1 [18] Stuff R15: (dc1, dec)x6 [12] R16: dec x 6 [6] I usually have no stitches left here, even though there should be 6. If you happen to have stitches left continue to decrease until the hole is closed. DON'T FASTEN OFF YET! Ch20, sl1 into the 1st chain you made to make a loop. Now fasten off, weave in ends. For Voltorb and Electrode, all you need to do is embroider their faces and you're done! Pokeball Extras Strap (worked flat): In black, ch40, turn, dc40, fasten off. (You may need more or less than 40 stitches, depending on how big your pokeball turned out. It should just fit around the pokeball, with a tiny bit of stretching and no overlap.) Black dot (worked round): dc6 into MR, incx6, sl1. Fasten off, weave in ends. White dot (worked round): dc6 into MR, s1, fasten off, weave in ends. Making up: Sew the black strap over the colour change of the pokeball. Sew the white dot on top of the black dot and sew to the pokeball. Aaaand you're finished!
