Something you don't come by too often, is a dual ICE 2 with both motor cars, or locomotives actually, combined to each other in the middle of the train, and for good reason! It doesn't never happen, as you can see here, but it is rare... The big problem is; they can't operate at top- or even high speed in this setup due to the pressure applied from the pantographs to the overhead wires at higher speeds! Now the ICE 2s operate at a maximum of 250 km/h, even though being allowed for 280 km/h. Most of the time, you'll see them running at 200 km/h however, but in this setup even that isn't possible, or at least it used to not be! The ICE 2s have a speed restriction of 160 km/h or 100 m/h in this setup from what I can find, but somewhere in my memory I remember having read this had been adjusted to 200. Entirely not sure whether I remember this correctly, so if any of you know for sure, please let me know! At the very least, they're heavily restricted like this, making it a rarity to come by!
