This is yet another remarkable composition by the late Maqsood Hussain, affectionately known as Chakki Miyan, who enriched the tradition of Sozkhwani in Mustafabad. He left behind a legacy that, by the grace of God, continues to thrive to this day. The "Saqi" here can be interpreted as a spiritual guide or provider of divine knowledge, symbolized by the cup. The reference to "fourteen saaqis" alludes to the fourteen infallibles in Shia Islam, revered for their wisdom and purity, suggesting that the poet’s spiritual thirst has been quenched by these elevated souls. The mention of holy cities—Bat’ha, Kazmain, Khorasan, and Samrah—evokes pilgrimage routes, each place holding significance in Islamic history, particularly for Shia believers. The final couplet brings the focus to Karbala and Najaf, two of the holiest sites, symbolizing the ultimate source of spiritual fulfillment. The contrast between earthly taverns and celestial realms highlights a journey from worldly desires to divine connection. The saqi of Karbala (Imam Husayn) and the saqi of Najaf (Imam Ali) embody the highest forms of spiritual guidance and fulfillment. ———- - - #sozkhwani #marsiyakhani #sozosalam #sozkhani #marsiya #marsiyakhwani #soz #karbala #imamhusain #tradition #traditions #turabnaqvi #moharram #muharram2025 #mustafabad #miranees
