群馬県吾妻郡中之条町四万の散策。中之条駅からバスで約30分。 四万温泉は、四万川の上流に位置する温泉地である。江戸期には既に湯宿が成立しており、明治期の街道の道路整備によって賑わいを見せた。その後、1954年に国民保養温泉地の第1号に指定され、日本国内でもすぐれた温泉地として認められた。 温泉地の中でも江戸時代から続く老舗旅館である積善館は、川に架かる赤い橋とともに歴史ある佇まいを見せる。ジブリ映画｢千と千尋の神隠し｣の湯屋「油屋」のイメージモデルの1つであるともいわれている。 四万温泉のさらに上流に位置する奥四万湖は、四万川ダムによってつくられたダム湖である。湖の水は神秘的な青色で、四万ブルーと呼ばれて注目を集めており、カヌーなどのアクティビティ体験も可能である。また、10月から11月頃には美しい紅葉を見ることができる。 Walking in Shima, Agatsumagun Nakanojomachi, Gunma. Lake Okushima, located further upstream from Shima Onsen, is a dammed lake created by the Shimagawa Dam. The water of the lake is a mysterious blue color, called "Shima Blue," and has attracted much attention. Visitors can experience canoeing and other activities. Also, beautiful autumn foliage can be seen from October to November.
