The Secret To Splitting Beehives In Under 4 Minutes Making Beehive Splits - How to Split My Beehive - Making Splits with Swarm Cells - Making Splits - How to Split a Beehive In this video I show you a simple method of Making Increase with Queen Cells and making splits with charged queen cells. Making Increase with Queen Cells as the basis for expansion of bee numbers, you can quickly make increases in the apiary using this method. Making splits with queen cells allows the bees to do most of the hard work for you but I can mean that you are propagating the swarming tendency. This method of expansion using a queen rearing method with out grafting. Grafting queen cells from selected colonies is very useful in selecting quality stock but grafting queen cells to make increase or splitting beehives is a skill that takes time to develop. For beginner beekeepers, making increase using queen cells or making increase with splits is a far easier and less problematic method. Making splits with charged queen cells is more reliable than a walk away split and saves around 1 week in the process. Making splits with queen cells is very rewarding and can easily increase numbers of hives within the apiary. Splitting beehives and making increase in the apiary should be done when the weather is warm and the flows are strong. This is naturally when bees like to swarm.
