I'm calling BS on this trendy brand of Eastern Orthodox Spirituality! This is a clerical rackett!

In this video, I examine the ladder of divine ascent-the icon and the book. Is it Biblical? Is it the Gospel Good News or is it a clerical rackett of wizards and an ecclesiastical conveyor belt keeping the saints in bondage to the clerical middlemen? What about Ephesians 2: that affirms that we are already seated in the heavenly places? What about St John who tells us that Jesus is the ladder and that we are "one spirit" with Him. Create a need and claim that you alone can satisfy it. Create a lack of Grace and you can sell it in your institution! Its a well worn scam that has led millions to holy islands, holy priests and holy "saints" all the time ignorant of what God has DONE and is DOING in all his saints. Ultimately this looks glamorous and strong, appealing to the mystic and the elitist within us, but it replaces Christ for clergy, the finished work of Christ for an uncertain ascent where the devil and the clergy are far closer to you than Christ is! Clear, clear BS. As an ex monk I've seen the damage this kind of spirituality can cause. The Good News of the Gospel is far closer and far better!
