In this meeting ladies and gentlemen who faced a difficult diagnosis and courageously fought the battle with cancer and disability came together along with their family, friends, doctors, nurses, speech and rehabilitation staff. To empower the fellow survivors to lead a fulfilling life after this devastating diagnosis and mutilating treatment, this initiative was started by the treating team of the hospital. Survivors found this meeting as a safe and encouraging space where they could share their experiences with life during and after cancer. In addition to providing emotional support, this meeting is a valuable resource for practical information, such as tips on how to adapt to changes. After the meeting the survivors had food together and this was not a formality for this group but a demonstration of triumph over the disability.
