Harry Warren and Bud Green (writers of Wob-A-Ly Walk, In My Gondola, and Away Down South In Heaven) wrote this song, copyrighted 1925. Welte-Mignon roll number is Y-7317, issued March 1926. The pianist is Indiana native Johnny Johnson (born circa 1900), who recorded for the Welte-Mignon (Licensee) company using the name "Malcolm Johnson" for a few years before he used the name "Johnny." His name appears in Variety vaudeville news as early as 1921. Johnson had an orchestra that played the Club Mirador in New York City. He recorded dozens of stylish jazz-influenced piano rolls for the Welte company between 1923 and 1928. He became known as a bandleader throughout the 1920s and beyond the War years. He and his wife, Edna, settled in New Jersey where he taught piano and led bands in hotels.
