Suffering with tight shoulders and mid back? Stretching your shoulder and back isn't helping? Perhaps the restriction is in the front! At the SC (sternoclavicular) joint and ribs. Give these techniques a try! 1. Using your finger tips, spikey massage ball, or massage ball roller, massage along the SC joint and where the ribs attach onto the sternum. Do this gently for several minutes each day. 2. Release and stretch the SC joint and ribs. Stand next to a wall. Place your hand on the wall and have your arm parallel to the floor. Using the fingers of the opposite hand, push on the medial aspect of the collar bone (clavicle) with gentle pressure. As you hold pressure, turn your torso and stretch away from the wall. Hold for 10 seconds and perform 3 times. Then repeat this maneuver on each rib as they attach onto the sternum. Give these soft tissue release sc joint and rib techniques a try!
