RACE REPORT CLUB100 LIGHTWEIGHT SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP - Rd.10 - Ellough Park Heat 1 - P2 to P8 Heat 6 - P4 to P12 Heat 11 - P8 to P9 B Final - P16 to P20 Overall in Class 2 - 23rd 😭 What a miserable day to be racing. Unfortunately it didn't go as well as I hoped it to, due to the rainy conditions. However it was good to learn some wet racing again, as it's been a dry season up till now. I did struggle to see at times and maybe pushed too hard. Did the best I could!! Heat 1, got pushed out wide on first two corners, so I fell back to almost last but managed to make my way back up to 8th. So was happy ish lol. Heat 6, same thing happened to me on lap 1 into turn 2 and 3 and ended up last again. Maybe I was being a little hesitant. I managed to make my way up to 12th. Not great!! Heat 11, held my ground more and didnt get pushed out. Got up to 5th but unfortunately got a 4 place penalty for spinning out under a yellow, which is penalty iv not heard of until now. A driver infront spun out. Didn't see yellow flag and saw him last minute, I broke to avoid but still went into him and so I spun too. I managed to just carry on around the corner. It's hard in the wet conditions to brake and continue not to slide. Apparently too fast on yellow and spun so I got given the penalty for that. Strange one Good heat apart from that incident!!! Oh and didnt relise until I finished, that I hurt my thumb from the impact After not such a good experience in the rainy conditions. I did manage to get into the B final. Starting 16th. Very good start... Stayed out of trouble and gained a few positions. But unfortunately got a penalty for a making contact when overtaking. Thumb was hurting and didn't turn enough and ended up going into the driver. Gap was there but I still shouldn't of gone for it, due to being in pain. I'm annoyed with myself. All in all it was good to learn some wet driving skills instead. Got to do a dry test session on the Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed it. From my lap times set, I felt like I would have been on good pace if it had stayed dry for Sunday.
