VCF East 2025 - Sony Handycam Video

Video footage from VCF East 2025 filmed with a Sony DCR-TRV22 Mini-DV Handycam. This was mainly an experiment to see how the video would look and what the process would be to get it exported. I used an older MacBook Pro that had a Firewire port and iMovie to export the video from the camcorder. From there, I used AVISynth+ and QTGMC to convert the RAW DV file to 720x540 Deinterlaced video, from there it was imported and edited in Davinci Resolve on a PC. This video was super helpful in getting the AVISynth setup -    • Deinterlacing with AVISynth and QTGMC...   I was going for something like the Vampire Robot channel and have the footage look like older B-Roll. I didn't cover or remove the sounds of the event for that reason. There's a lot I would have done differently in hindsight, biggest blunder was I forgot to dig up a wide-angle adapter for the first day of video so many of the shots are a lot tighter than I'd like. As I said, this was an experiment and excuse to play with the Handycam more than anything else.
