Travel to New Orleans, Louisiana for a look at a very historic streetcar system! The St. Charles line is considered to be the world's oldest street railway, commencing operation in the year 1835. Originally, steam locomotive-hauled trains plied the streets but today, and for the last 100 years, Perley Thomas streetcars carry passengers along these historic rails.
