This piece is about a fantasy figure that is common to all of us. This mysterious figure appears in us when we feel lonely, abandoned, isolated and a little depressed. This negative energy can overwhelm us so much that we can't feel right at all. Emotions are energy and I used this dark energy to drive and inspire my piano piece, "Mogelgrimm's Dance." Sometimes something very dark can become something very lively and bright. And sometimes this initially negative energy changes into a motivating force that also lets us overcome all the dark sides around us and within us. The mood in this piano piece is energic, powerful, dark, secretive and mysterious.
