This footage from 1985 is an interview with Walter Heapy and Sid Cookson about their work to renovate Marsh Mill Windmill. Starting the work in 1964, former engineer Walter Heapy, known as 'Mr. Windmill' began his over 20 year restoration of the Windmill. A local man, Walter had a passion for Marsh Mill Windmill, Thornton which saw him devote his time to the tireless restoration of the building and machinery of Marsh Mill Windmill. He was a founder member of the Thornton Windmill Preservation Society. The community of Thornton and the Fylde Coast offer an unreserved thanks for his dedication and hardwork to help maintain and preserve the Mill we have today. In the latter part of the footage there is a piece on the Blackpool Tramway System and the 100th year celebrations to mark its Centenary. The tram runs the 10 mile stretch from Fleetwood, through Cleveleys and Blackpool.
