The History: In typical fashion for Arlberg, the Tanzbödenbahn is one of many "overbuilt" lifts. Prior to 2013 when this lift was installed, a T-Bar ran on a similar alignment as three other detachable chairlifts provided access to the same plateau. While not necessary, this Doppelmayr six-pack with bubbles and heated seats was a desirable upgrade that provides another way to access the St. Anton plateau. The Lift: The Tanzbödenbahn was installed in 2013 by Doppelmayr and features a UNI-G bottom return terminal with a Chairkit loading conveyor and an enclosed top drive terminal with carrier parking. Bubble six-pack carriers with heated seats and DT grips ensure a smooth, comfortable ride, and unlike many other lifts in the area that have heated seats, these actually work. Capacity is rated at 2,000 p/h due to relatively wide spacing and the design speed is 5 m/s (~975 ft/min), although it runs slower during normal operation.
