Growing up in the Keno Hills***Memories and Today´s Stories*** is an interview with Keno City resident Mike Mancini conducted by Anthropologist Gerti Saxinger. Mike, grown up at the Calumet mining site in the Keno hills, is today in charge for the local Keno City Mining Museum and runs a famous Pizza place in this small town "at the end of the road" in the Yukon Territory/CAN. After the collapse of United Keno Hill mining company in 1989 a couple of residents (around 20) remained and some newcomers moved in. Keno City was circularly booming and busting in the course of the 20th century. Currently some mining/exploration/remediation activities are going on. Keno City and its surrounding region is attracting laid back tourists and people from nearby. Mike talks about the old days and the visions of Keno City people today.
