It’s starfruit season in Florida! 🌟 In this video, we taste and compare 4 different varieties of carambola (starfruit): Arkin, Kari, Bell, and Fwang Tung. We grow Fwang Tung in our garden and harvest Arkin from our parents’ food forest. For this tasting, we also tracked down Kari, Bell, and a ripe Fwang Tung from Echo Global Farms so we could finally compare them all side by side! 🍊 In this video, we cover: – Which starfruit tastes the best (sweet, tangy, juicy, crunchy) – The differences in size, color, and texture – Why starfruit must fully ripen on the tree (they don’t ripen once picked) – Why starfruit is one of the most productive fruit trees for a food forest with multiple crops per year!
