Trabant A two-door, front engined, two-stroke, air-cooled car. The Trabant does not have a separate oil sump and fuel tank, instead oil and gasoline are added directly to the car's engine at an optimum ratio of 97% gasoline to 3% oil. A higher proportion of oil will still work but performance begins to degrade with higher concentrations of oil. The car has the smallest fuel tank in the game with a 24-liter capacity. Being air cooled, the Trabant requires no coolant and has no radiator. However it's notable that it still heats up from 40°C to 50°C. It being impossible to install a radiator, engine swapping is not advisable but still possible. The car and body panels are made from a cotton-based plastic known as "Duroplast" in german. Therefore they don't rust. You can use a sponge or polish to make it glossy/shiny. The wire brush, usually used to restore rusted bodywork on steel built cars, will worsen the condition of the bodywork on a Trabant. A station wagon (601 Universal) variant can also be found which features a removable rear seat to allow loading of large cargo. Features a tow hook at the rear to allow attachment of a trailer. The car is based on the Trabant 601. Better tires, seatbelts, more comfortable seats, a fuel gauge, a heater, a fuel consumption gauge, a "special" steering wheel and an odometer were optional at that time. Our Trabant has the fuel consuption gauge and odometer options it seems! Cruising speed is 90km/h with a top speed of ~105km/h. Consumption is around 34 km/L (3L/100km) of two-stroke mix at an average speed of 85 km/h. ****************************************************** THANKS FOR WATCHING LIKE | COMMENT | SHARE | SUBSCRIBE #OGYGIA_VLOGS#Trabant#Car#Restoration#Project
