The fort gets its name from the Portuguese word “Aguada,” meaning water, as it once had a large freshwater reservoir that supplied water to passing ships. One of the main attractions here is the four-storey lighthouse, one of the oldest lighthouses in Asia. From the top of Aguada Fort, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea, making it a perfect spot for photography, sunsets, and peaceful moments.
