Day 35 | High Jinks | Arizona Trail 2024 SOBO Thru Hike

November 22. We remembered the section between Kearny and Oracle from last spring as beautiful but without much variation and this time of year it was dry, dusty, and with almost no shade. I found myself dreaming of hitching into Oracle for a Dr. Pepper. As it turned out, I was dropped off near the great Mexican place we’d discovered in the spring. It was a very welcome break! Three huge glasses of horchata hit the spot, though it slowed down the pace of afternoon hiking. I detoured over to walk through High Jinks Ranch, which is now added to the list for the next time we’re in the area.
