This was more complex to research than expected but I enjoyed it. Here are all Doctor Who events (ignoring spin-offs) I could pin down to Sundays. Most are certain, though a few involve reasoned guesswork. Explanations follow. The clean version of the title sequence that I used for the opening and closing is here: • Doctor Who CLEAN TITLES | 2024/25 Intro The opening clip is from Silence in the Library which may or may not happen on a Sunday, there's really no way to tell. REASONINGS The Witchfinders - The fact that it's Sunday is mentioned in dialogue and we can be reasonably certain the year is 1612 as the King James Bible is "new" and the Pendle witch trials happened in that year (though these aren't the Pendle witch trials, just near to them). Placing it on August 19th is something of a guess based on the dates of the historic trials. The Reign of Terror - Robespierre’s shooting/arrest occurred on Sunday, July 27, 1794. Rose - Krakatoa erupted Sunday, August 26, 1883. Besides Cliff showing a picture of the Ninth Doctor, we also know that the Doctor was there earlier in his life too, since in "Inferno" the Third Doctor describes being there for the eruption. Vincent and the Doctor - The Eleventh Doctor and Amy go to visit Vincent Van Gogh due to seeing the creature painted into Van Gogh's painting "The Church at Auvers". The art expert guessed that the painting was painted between the 1st and 3rd of June 1890. The Doctor then heads straight there and when they arrive the painting isn't painted yet. It's reasonable to assume they arrived on the 1st of June 1890 which was a Sunday. This attack happened on the first night they were there. Blink - Newspaper shows December 5, 1920, a Sunday. Evolution of the Daleks - Daleks in Manhattan starts Saturday, November 1, 1930 as shown in a newspaper Martha reads. Most of Daleks in Manhattan takes place on that day and the following night, up to the activation of the Human Dalek Hybrids. However, after getting down from the tower the Doctor explicitly states "it's after midnight" which places the following theatre confrontation firmly on Sunday November 2nd 1930. The Angels Take Manhattan - Rory is sent to Sunday, April 3, 1938, confirmed explicitly by the Melody Malone book. The rest of Angels Take Manhattan all takes place on one night, including this scene. Demons of the Punjab - Partition of India occurred on Sunday, August 17, 1947, also referenced in dialogue. Day of the Moon - Apollo 11 moon landing: Sunday, July 20, 1969. Logopolis/Castrovalva -Tegan is accidentally kidnapped on the way to Heathrow at the start of "Logopolis" and one night passes during the story with the dawn being remarked on. Tegan’s flight (referenced in Four to Doomsday) was scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 1981, placing the Doctor’s fall from the Pharos antennae on Sunday, March 1, 1981. Survival - The one is very much guesswork but also very much not. Ace notes at the start of the story that it's a Sunday and it all seems to happen over one day so there's no real doubt that it's a Sunday the whole way through. As to the specific date, that's a bit of a guess based on a magazine. When the Doctor discovers the dead cat in the flat he finds it on top of a magazine called Melody Maker which has a front page story about Bobby Brown. Melody Maker is a weekly and that issue was released June 10th 1989, a Saturday. It's reasonable to assume that it's from the day before which would place Survival on June 11th 1989. It's not airtight though and Survival could happen anytime after that, so long as it's a Sunday. The Christmas Invasion - Events start Christmas Eve 2006, a Sunday, continuing into Christmas Day. This means that Mr "I never land on Sundays, Sundays are boring" landed on a Sunday as the literal first thing he did after regenerating. The Halloween Apocalypse - Halloween 2021 fell on a Sunday. Worth noting is that this only applies to the Good Guy Dan version of events. We don't know when Evil Dan is active. He's probably always active, stealing soup and hitting people with woks. The Vanquishers - The modern day portion of this story is set explicitly on December 5th 2021 as Yaz, Dan, Jericho, and Williamson use one of the time portals in the Williamson tunnels labelled "December 5th, far future, two thousand and twenty one!!", which would be a Sunday. The Church on Ruby Road - Events occur Christmas Eve 2023, a Sunday.
