Belgian Beach Adventure: Will I Make It to the Dutch Border? (Part Four)

Join Philip Saunders from Travel In The Know as he completes his four day trek up the Belgian Coast from France to the Netherlands. On this final stage, Philip walks from Blankenberge to the Zwin Nature Park on the Dutch border. Facing exhaustion in the sun, Philip explains how his love for travel started in Zeebrugge whilst remembering the victims of the Townsend Thoresen disaster from 1986. We then experience the Port of Zeebrugge in action when an unusually large concrete object is manoeuvred into the outer harbour. We also get to visit the beautiful and highly fashionable resort of Knokke. Then Philip struggles on the last few kilometres to (more or less) reach the Dutch border! We then try some traditional Flemish stew (with bier in the sauce!) and a huge portion of Belgian fries with mayo! Before closing this epic hike, Philip explains the huge importance of the 'De Lijn' tram link the entire length of the Belgian coast and reveals that this is actually the longest tram journey in the world!
