In Vienna we stay in Favoritenstraße 500 m north of the main train station, about 7 minutes walk away. Due to its proximity to the central station, all long-distance connections and every stop in the city and the surrounding area are easily accessible by public transportation. Nearby are a number of restaurants. The Peruvian restaurant Lima has a beautiful garden where you can eat well on summer evenings. The hotel's name includes the term Theresianum. The Theresianum is one of the most renowned educational institutions in Austria. It is also located in Favoritenstraße. The Theresianum was originally a summer residence of the Habsburgs. Three emperors resided here. Empress Maria Theresa later converted the grounds into an educational institution. Today it includes a kindergarten, an elementary school, and a high school with day care and boarding. The focus is on foreign languages. Since 1964, it has also housed the Diplomatic Academy, the oldest diplomatic academy in the world. The hotel has a rather inconspicuous facade and is simply but modernly furnished. The rooms are clean and have everything you need for a stay. A rich breakfast buffet is offered. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We have a room with a balcony on the top floor. This allows us to see part of the city from above. Looking towards the town hall, we see the so-called BA building on the Getreidemarkt, a building of the Vienna University of Technology. It is the first plus-energy office tower in the world. This means that more energy is generated than is consumed. [:de] Das Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum liegt 500 m nördlich, ca. 7 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hauptbahnhof in der Favoritenstraße. Durch die Nähe zum Hauptbahnhof sind alle Fernverbindungen, sowie jede Haltestelle in der Stadt und im Umland mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln leicht zu erreichen. In der Nähe befinden sich eine Reihe von Restaurants. Das peruanische Restaurant Lima hat einen schönen Gastgarten, in dem man an Sommerabenden gut im essen kann. Das Hotel führt im Namen die Bezeichnung Theresianum. Dies ist eine der renommiertesten Bildungseinrichtungen in Österreich. Auch sie befindet sich in der Favoritenstraße. Ursprünglich war das Theresianum eine Sommerresidenz der Habsburger. Drei Kaiser residierten hier. Später baute Kaiserin Maria Theresia das Gelände in eine Bildungseinrichtung um. Heute beinhaltet es einen Kindergarten, eine Volksschule und Gymnasium mit Tagesbetreuung und Internat. Der Focus liegt auf Fremdsprachen. Seit 1964 beinhaltet es auch die Diplomatische Akademie, die die älteste diplomatische Akademie der Welt ist. Das Hotel besitzt eine eher unscheinbare Fassade und ist schlicht aber modern eingerichtet. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und es ist alles vorhanden, was bei einem Aufenthalt benötigt wird. Ein großes Frühstücksbuffet wird angeboten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Balkon im Dachgeschoss. Damit können wir einen Teil der Stadt von oben sehen. Beim Blick auf das Rathaus sehen wir links davon Bauteil BA am Getreidemarkt, ein Gebäude der TU Wien. Es ist das erste Plus-Energie-Bürohochhaus weltweit. Das heißt es wird mehr Energie erzeugt als verbraucht wird.
