Project Description (Cinematic Sampling from “Mah Mo” by Erfan Tahmasbi): In this project, I took a heartfelt segment from “Mah Mo,” a composition by Iranian artist Erfan Tahmasbi, which features a rich fusion of kamancheh (a traditional Persian bowed string instrument) and classical guitar. This melodic passage resonated deeply with me due to its emotional depth and sonic texture. I isolated and sampled this specific part of the track, then meticulously looped and restructured it into a new cinematic piece. The process involved recontextualizing the original instrumental elements, enhancing them with ambient layers, modern orchestration techniques, and cinematic sound design. The result is a deeply emotional and atmospheric composition that pays homage to the original while presenting an entirely new narrative and aesthetic. This project exemplifies the art of musical transformation—bridging traditional Persian instrumentation with modern cinematic expression.
