Whether you’ve inherited a set of pearls from a relative or you stumble across them at a yard sale what you think might be real pearls may indeed be a fake. How do you truly know that your set of pearls are real or fake? Here are some signs: Real pearls come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. Real pearls are cold to the touch almost like a gold necklace and warm up to your body temperature. Fake pearls are lightweight and always at room temperature. Real pearls are not spherical in shape and are not all the same size. Fake pearls are the perfect sphere and they’re pearly white. It may not be as obvious as fashion jewelry and the pearls may not say made in China but when in doubt always consult a jeweler to find out if your pearls are indeed real or fake.
