This week we’ve been exploring compassion over criticism — not as a feel-good idea, but as a lived practice. Many of us were raised to believe that being hard on ourselves was how we’d grow, improve, or stay safe. Criticism was framed as motivation, honesty, or love. Over time, those external voices became internal ones — and instead of helping us change, they made us anxious, disconnected, and stuck. Throughout the week, we talked about how criticism tightens the body and overwhelms the nervous system, while compassion creates safety, capacity, and clarity. We looked at this through mind, body, and soul — and how being kinder to ourselves isn’t avoidance or weakness, it’s what actually allows accountability and growth to happen. We also talked about gratitude, community, and the importance of rest. Rest isn’t a reward — it’s a requirement. Integration happens when we slow down enough to let the work land, not when we push ourselves harder. Today, Soulful Sunday, is about letting this week settle. Noticing how compassion feels in your body compared to criticism. Reflecting on where you’re still being hard on yourself out of habit. And allowing yourself to rest without guilt. Tomorrow, we begin a new week with a new theme: ✨ Redefining What It Means to Be OK ✨ Because many of us were taught that “being okay” means pushing through, minimizing, or pretending — and we’re going to slow that down and look at what being actually okay looks like. Then, as we move into February, we’ll be holding space for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and Black History Month — conversations that deserve care, honesty, and depth. I’m not here to talk at you — I want to talk with you. Where are you at after this week?
