The battle of Ntombe drift, also called Intombe drift or Myer's drift is a little known but very interesting chapter of the Anglo-Zulu war. A company-sized detachment of the British 80th regiment was virtually wiped out during a surprise attack by thousands of Zulu warriors under Mbelini. In this video I walk the battlefield, give a history of the battle and even get to meet a descendant of the Zulu commander himself.
