The Centre for the Study of Social and Global Justice (CSSGJ) is pleased to host Distinguished Professor William Robinson for an important and timely talk titled From Venezuela to Iran: Connecting the Global Dots. Professor William I. Robinson is Distinguished Professor of Sociology, Global Studies, and Latin American Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His work focuses on the political economy of global capitalism, transnational class formation, and the contemporary crises of the world system. He is the author of numerous influential books, including Global Capitalism and the Crisis of Humanity, Into the Tempest: Essays on the New Global Capitalism, and The Global Police State, which analyse the restructuring of global capitalism and the emergence of transnational elites and new systems of social control.
