Will the Global March for Gaza succeed where the Madleen flotilla failed?

Libyan security and military forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar's eastern administration stopped a Gaza-bound convoy, known as the Somoud convoy, late on Thursday at the east entrance of Sirte, some 450 kilometres from Tripoli, demanding additional security clearance and cutting off internet services across the area where participants have since camped. Meanwhile, thousands of activists from at least 50 countries are expected to gather in Cairo with plans to travel together to the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza. However, Egyptian authorities have detained and deported over 200 activists ahead of the planned march, stating that only those with proper authorisation will be allowed to proceed, citing national security concerns in sensitive border areas.
