(Filmed December 26, 2025) Later on in the afternoon, I came here to S. Airport Way in downtown Stockton to catch Amtrak 714 eastbound/southbound to Bakersfield. Since I was last here, the close gated mast had its US&S Modal 95 mechanism replaced with either a Siemens or Invensys Rail mechanism as there’s no label on it. In addition, the remaining Safetran Type-1 sounded like it was weakening as its volume lowered a bit before returning to normal which indicates it will be on its way out soon. You’ll also notice an impatient driver go around the gates after they lowered. Goes to show you the drivers of this era. As of this video’s publishing Amtrak’s 713 and 714 have been temporarily canceled for a few months. This was my last catch of the day. This crossing owned by the BNSF Railway is an ATSF mixed install with the cantilevers both being ATSF 1970s signal installs with changes to their bells, lights, gates, gate lights, mechanisms and counterweight arms. The left gated mast has extra add-on lights with one of them changed. The gateless signal is a BNSF early to mid 2020s signal install.
