The Braemar Hill murders, known as one of Hong Kong's top ten strange cases, occurred on April 20, 1985. The victims, 17-year-old Kenneth McBride and 18-year-old Nicola Myers, both British nationals, were brutally beaten to death by five men, sustaining over a hundred injuries. The female victim was also reportedly raped. After six months of intensive police investigations, all five suspects were arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. Notably, two of the offenders were only 15 and 16 at the time of the crime and were awaiting the Queen's judgment. They remained unconvicted until after 1997, inspiring the film "Waiting for Tung Chee-hwa's Judgment." Over the years, the case has sparked numerous rumors, including claims that the deceased woman was once possessed by a fruit seller, and she told the details of the case in fluent English to assist the police. There are also suggestions that the case may involve triad and that the victims' families have forgiven the perpetrators.
