Yuri Shevchenko’s arrangement of the Ukrainian National Anthem, the encore from the performance of the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra conducted by Keri-Lynn Wilson at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park, New York on August 20, 2022. Keri-Lynn Wilson is the founding conductor and music director of the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra. An ensemble created in 2022 in collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera and Polish National Opera, it is composed of leading Ukrainian musicians. It was formed to defend Ukraine’s cultural legacy as the country fights for its freedom. Now under the patronage of Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra will come together each summer to tour capital cities and festivals of the world.
