Growing up in a poor family with 12 siblings, Mr Toh, the 7th child in the family, saw how his parents had to work day and night to make ends meet. He was determined to study hard to earn more money so that his family can lead a better life. However, due to their financial circumstances, he has to quit school at the age of 14 to enter the workforce. He worked at the construction site and also as a repair man. With the morale support of his mother, he decided to venture out on his own and started his first furniture business. His business grew bigger, and his furniture shop was on the path of success. But that never stop him from pursuing further knowledge. He finally achieved his doctorate. However, in 2009, he decided to “Move On” from his lucrative business and commit his time and resources in doing charity instead. What is the reason behind him doing this?
