WCO Asia/Pacific 31st Regional Contact Point Meeting

Indonesia, as the WCO Asia/Pacific Vice Chair of 2020-2022 organized the 31st Regional Contact Point (RCP) Meeting on 2-3 November 2021. Opened by the Director General of Customs and Excise, Askolani, this meeting was held virtually and was attended by 22 Customs Administration in the Asia/Pacific Region, representatives from WCO, ROCB A/P, as well as RILO A/P. In his remarks, Askolani invited WCO A/P member countries to join hands and work together to strengthen synergy and regional collaboration. Through this meeting, Askolani encouraged all member countries to share experiences and exchange views, particularly in increasing organizational capacity during the pandemic. The meeting highlighted several regional priorities including Regional Nominations in the WCO Committees, the Regional Strategic Plan of 2020 – 2022, as well as regional priorities and initiatives in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. As the tenure of Indonesia as Vice-chair will end in June 2022, Australia expressed interest to become the Vice-chair for the next period.
