1. Opening Phase (Moves 1-7) 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 This is the famous Nimzo-Indian Defense, one of the most solid openings in chess. Black immediately pins the knight on c3, creating pressure. 4. Nf3 d5 5. cxd5 exd5 White exchanges early. Black accepts with the pawn, keeping central control. 6. Bf4 Ne4 Black places the knight aggressively in the center. 7. Rc1 Nc6 White supports c-file pressure. Black develops normally. 2. Giri's Bold Kingside Attack (Moves 8-18) 8. Nd2 g5!? This is the first major surprise. Black plays g5, pushing pawns forward aggressively. This is risky but shows Giri wants to attack fast. 9. Be3 Nxc3 10. bxc3 Ba3 Black damages White's pawn structure and places bishop actively. White now has weak pawns, especially on c3. 11. Rb1 f5 Black continues with pawn storm. 12. g3 Bd6 13. Nf3 f4! A very strong move. Black sacrifices structure for activity and attacks White's center. 14. Вс1 0-0 Black safely castles while White's pieces are awkward. 15. Rb5 g4 Black keeps pushing. Rb3 Bxc1 28. Kxc1 Black trades bishop for knight. Now White loses an important defender. 29. Qf1 Kg7 Black calmly improves king safety. 30. Qd1 h5 Black continues attack with h-pawn push. Opening the Center (Moves 31-36) 31. e4 dxe4 White tries counterplay, but Black accepts. 32. d5 Qg5+ Check forces White king into worse position. 33. Kb1 Qxd5 Black wins pawn and takes full control. 34. c4 Qxd1+ Queens are traded. This is important because Black is already better and wants endgame. 35. Rxd1 Nb6 Black knight becomes very strong. 36. cxb5 Na4 Black knight jumps to a powerful outpost. 5. Endgame Masterclass (Moves 37-45) Now Giri shows why he is one of the best technical players. 37. Rd4 Nc5 Knight dominates the board. 38. Rc3 Rxb5+ Black wins pawn with check. 39. Kc2 Rfb7 Black rooks become active on b-file. 40. Rcc4 Kf6 King enters endgame, very strong. 41.
