PE Games - Hot Spot

Hot Spot is a PE game for primary school children that can be used in PE lessons, after school clubs and in sports coaching. We have created these videos to help to provide support and give ideas to teachers and sports coaches to use in PE lessons or sports clubs. Hot Spot is a Basketball game that focuses on shooting technique. To play Hot Spot you will need multiple Basketball hoops and split the children into groups (1 group per basket). Each child will take it in turns to shoot and the game will start with the first child shooting from the marked cone no further than a free throw line. If the first child scores they go to the back of the line but if they miss they stand on the 'Hot Spot'. If the next person in line scores, the child on the Hot Spot is out. If the next person in line misses, the child on the Hot Spot stays in the game, joins the back of the line and the child that missed takes over the as the child on the Hot Spot. The children keep shooting until there is a winner.
