Brian Keating is an experimental cosmologist and Distinguished professor of Physics at the University of California, San Diego. He has written two books, one audio book, and hosts his own podcast. He is also a fellow YouTuber! Brian's specialty is the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), in particular, he studies the polarization of the CMB. I interviewed him recently where we talked about the fascinating possibility of detecting gravitational waves from the polarization of the CMB. If we can do this, it will give us incredible insights into the earliest moments of the Big Bang revealing some of its mysteries, or perhaps even giving us a clue about its origins!
