Full time lapse assembly of PV Electronics' SPECTRUM 18 Nixie Tube Clock Kit. This kit uses some of the largest tubes (IN-18) available and is going to look really nice when they finally arrive from Russia! Check out all the cool Nixie Tube Clocks at http://www.pvelectronics.co.uk A few tips: 1. Be sure that all 11 tube pins are in each socket before soldering to the board! Double check! Trust me, miss one and you'll add 30 minutes to your assembly time. 2. A hair dryer works just fine to shrink the tubing for the neons, but it's a bit slower than a hot air gun. 3. Use a multimeter to check resistor values instead of trying to read the color codes. If you don't have a meter then there are color code calculators online. 4. Make sure the tube sockets are all level and neons spaced evenly. It's the one thing that you will notice if it's out of place!
