Folkston Spring Railwatch 2025 Nonstop Action Part 1 (1 HOUR!)

Part 1 of the Folkston Railwatch event on April 4th 2025 I decided to make a four hour trip from my hometown in Columbia SC and visit the heart of CSX traffic going in and out of Florida to Folkston Georgia. Folkston nowadays sees up to 40 trains per day with traffic ranging in different varieties like tankers, Coal, Intermodal, Rock, Manifest, Grain and Amtrak. This area at one point saw 80 to 100 trains during its heyday but PSR and more restrictions bumped it down to 40 but it’s still a favorite place to go. I decided to show up at 1:00PM but didn’t see anything come through after the hotshot I032 came through so I decided to grab some McDonald’s with the new “Flint and Meal” with the promotion of the Minecraft movie. At 1:30 I finally showed up to the platform and after about a hour, the action begins and would continue nonstop through throughout the day and night. I stayed out till 12 AM on April 4th and caught 17 trains in that period. A variety of power can be seen throughout this video with each locomotive and symbol written down at the beginning of each segment with different trains. There was some funny shenanigans that had occurred off camera with the shark costume but overall, it was hilarious. Anyways, keep watching the video for more action over an hour period.
