A couple of tracks I made using custom sampled sounds on the Teenage Engineering OP-XY. The OP-XY is a new portable workstation from T.E. that is released today and which I made factory content for. In April this year I got asked by Teenage Engineering if I was interested in making some Factory sounds for a new exciting machine. Since it's no surprise that I am a big fan of Teenage Engineering musical devices I didn't need to think twice about this request so I got involved in the creation of factory content for the OP-XY and even made a factory song (Ask Why) for it. When I received a development unit in September I started creating (re)sampling and programming the stereo multi/single sampled factory presets and a couple of drum-kits right away. Of course there were several bugs that needed to get squashed on the way and I had quite some personal feature requests which actually got implemented like the ability to read wave meta data (loop points / tonal information) or being able to keep samples looping when you release a key and most importantly being able to read and play samples of all sample rates. I really love the new multi-sampler and hope it will also find it's way to the OP-1 Field. Since the multi-sampler limit currently is around 40 seconds (6,7 Megabytes max) per preset with a maximum of 24 samples per multi-sampled instrument I had to really push some 'resample boundaries' to get things into there, but I am quite proud of the sampled factory content I made for the XY. It has that 'vintage sampler vibe' all over it and I hope you'll also enjoy these sounds if you get one!
