The Indian Peaks Wilderness is one of my favorite places in Colorado. It's usually a lush green area with big gray boulders, right on the Continental Divide. For this trip it is a winter wonderland covered in fresh snow. The weather reports are talking about some snow and high winds. Nature wins this round but I had a great time and was never in any danger. For gear, I am bringing some homemade equipment: a hot tent, stove, and winter hammock.
