Coming up next is Horrible CGI Fireman Sam, but first you have to suffer through the Cartoonito Birthday Club. No special card or anything – they just have the mascots read them out. They’re not even mascots, really – just basic CGI shapes. The lack of effort here is melting my brain. In the ad world, first up is Switch & Go Dinos, dinosaurs you control with a remote control. Well, yeah. You’re not going to control them with a banana, are you? Ads for the Kidizoom Duo, Play-Doh, Toy Story and Playmobil follow before Nickelodeon interrupts to remind you that Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn is on. Would this be of interest to a four-year-old? Nope. Flip-a-Zoo is the next toy craze: plush dolls that transform from one animal into another, giving you the genetically disturbing splicing experiment you’ve always wanted. What’s next, Little Suzie’s Psychotic Mutant Kit? Ads for Toilet Trouble, the VTech cars and a promo for Popples follow before a Cartoonito ident takes us into Fireman Sam. And by this point, I’d rather set the TV on fire, so let’s get out of here.
