To mark our five-year anniversary, we’re launching the first ever Loose Men’s Big Mental Health Survey to discover how men are truly feeling. The results are eye-opening: 27% of men say they’re more comfortable opening up about their feelings than when Loose Men first began. However, there is still a lot of work to be done, as over a third of men revealed that they have struggled with their mental health in the past year, with 40% still feeling unable to talk about their feelings. Joe can relate to this as he says after losing his dad, he kept his grief tightly bottled up, worried about putting extra pressure on his mum and sisters. Jordan shares that he had a wake-up call last Christmas when he suddenly realised he hadn’t checked in on a friend whose mum had passed away. Our Loose Men survey also reveals that only 18% of men have cried in the past month, and nearly half admit they wouldn’t feel comfortable shedding a tear in front of a male friend.
