The University of Vermont's evidence-based Cannabis Certificate Programs can help you distinguish facts from anecdotes and build a working knowledge of the substance, its impact on the body, and guidelines for safe use. Explore UVM Cannabis Programs at go.uvm.edu/cannabis Offered each spring and fall, UVM offers a Professional Certificate in Cannabis Plant Biology for dispensary personnel, growers, extractors, and quality control personnel. Developed by UVM’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, this certificate program explores cannabis chemicals, genetics, and agricultural best practices, as well as the systems, processes, facilities, and equipment necessary for producing cannabis-based products. Also offered each spring and fall, UVM's Cannabis Science and Medical Professional Certificate is geared towards medical professionals, dispensary personnel, and regulators. Offered by the Department of Pharmacology in the Larner College of Medicine, this certificate program gives healthcare professionals knowledge and confidence to treat patients safely and effectively, with an understanding of the indications, counter-indications, benefits, and risks of cannabis. But at UVM students don't just learn about Cannabis. As the field of psychedelic research expands with additional evidence-based research, UVM cannabis faculty include presentations regarding mushrooms focused on how psilocybin and psilocin affect the human body. Students in both Cannabis Plant Biology and Cannabis Science and Medicine certificate programs will also learn about emerging evidence of psychedelics. In this info session recording, hear from Cannabis Program Director Dr. Monique McHenry about program details, learning outcomes, and course start dates. 00:00 Welcome 1:59 Cannabis Science & Medicine 6:57 Student Perspective 8:39 Guest Experts Explained 10:16 Cannabis Plant Biology 15:02 Student Project Example 15:51 Psilocybin Info 21:35 Careers in Cannabis 23:14 Course Logistics
