Developed by UVM’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, this certificate program explores cannabis chemicals, genetics, and agricultural best practices, as well as the systems, processes, facilities, and equipment necessary for producing cannabis-based products. Also offered each spring and fall, UVM's Cannabis Science and Medical Professional Certificate is geared towards medical professionals, dispensary personnel, and regulators. Offered by the Department of Pharmacology in the Larner College of Medicine, this certificate program gives healthcare professionals knowledge and confidence to treat patients safely and effectively, with an understanding of the indications, counter-indications, benefits, and risks of cannabis. But at UVM students don't just learn about Cannabis. As the field of psychedelic research expands with additional evidence-based research, UVM cannabis faculty include presentations regarding mushrooms focused on how psilocybin and psilocin affect the human body.
