Spark for Autism Study- What It's Like

We did the home kit for the Spark for Autism Study this week with Sadie and James, after going in and giving samples with the other kids when Spark was at Michigan State last month, and we decided to share how easy it is to participate in this particular autism study from home. You just submit a saliva sample in the little tub that they send you and send it back in the box that Spark provides, and you're all set. Once you answer a few surveys they'll even send you an Amazon gift card! This study shares genetic information among many scientists while protecting personal information. We aren't guaranteed to hear anything back or get any results, but because we've always felt that there was a strong genetic component in our family that causes autism we were curious about being involved and about whether or not we would learn anything after sending in our samples.
